Jane L: Big Country 80's/90's Scot/Eng rock band photos

from the Dover, New Hampshire area in United States

The three surviving BC members are touring starting Dec '10! Mike Peters of the Alarm will be standing in on vocals for the late Stuart Adamson and guitarist Bruce Watson's son, Jamie, will be an additional guitarist. I'm planning on seeing 3 gigs on the tour: London, Birmingham, & Liverpool. Have visited Scotland 1981 & 2007. Highlanders from Argyll & Inverness via Nova Scotia & Quebec. Lowlanders from Dumfriesshire via Ashton-under-Lyne, England.

Michelle Y: Pictou, the "Birthplace of New Scotland" photos

from the Pictou area in Canada

As Supervisor at the Hector Heritage Quay, a cultural attraction in Pictou, you will learn about Scottish migration to the New World. A series of imaginative and informative displays retell the story of the Ship Hector voyage in 1773. The centerpiece of the attraction is a full scale reproduction of the ship Hector. Hear the sizzling sounds of the working blacksmith's forge, and the rhythm of the mallets and chisels. www.townofpictou.ca.

Dayle C: Scotland feels like home! photos

from the Pictou area in Canada

As the Director/Site manager of an historic home built for the founder of Liberal education, Thomas McCulloch, native of Scotland and a genealogy centre/museum which focuses on Scottish everything I breath a little bit of Scotland ever day. My grandmother was from Glasgow Scotland and became a war bride entering Nova Scotia through the famous Pier 21. I get homesick for Scotland and fortunately was able to visit in 2009. Now my mission.. wanted: scottish connections, friendship, a good chat, a scottish job ;-).. on offer: genealogy, friendship, a good chat

Today I say Hello after such a long time away! - see 2 comments
