I live in the mountains of North Carolina, reminds me of the Scottish highlands. Semi-retired. Visited Edinbrugh last year and fell in love with the city. I plan to return this year. I would love to hear from you. Today I discovered the whole problem with the National Debt. Most of us work 5 days a week and the government spends 7. - see 5 comments |

I'm a single woman visiting Scotland for 3 weeks in July. My only "must do" is visit Dunvegan Castle, the McLeod's ancestral home. Other than that I leave/depart from Glasgow 07/12 - 31. Looking forward to meeting people on line so that I have some to visit while I travel around. Interested in anything to do with Scotland. |

I'm looking to visit Scotland this fall. I want to get in touch with locals to know the ins and outs. Also hoping to better understand the McNicholas clan history. Oh, plus I must visit my 1 sq ft plot of land on Laphroaig's property. Cheers! Today I am glad it's Friday! - see 3 comments |

torquil Glenn MacLeod |
from the Forfar area in Scotland
My paternal ancestors were Norsemen who settled on the Isle of Lewis, confirmed by a DNA test with Oxford Ancestors. This came as no surprise because I've always been interested in Viking history and in recent years participated with the Danish longship "Havhingsten fra Glendalough" when it sailed via Scotland to Ireland in 2007... wanted: friendship.. on offer: friendship Today I relaxed for most of the day in the garden. |
