Love any/all things Scottish!! Am Scottish (McDowell) on my paternal side and Irish (Murphy) on my maternal line. Have traveled to Scotland on several occasions and always kicked and screamed when had to leave. Am looking forward to making/keeping some long time friendships, here. I live near the town of New Glasgow Nova Scotia. My ancestors were cleared from their land in Scotland during the clearances. I've never been to Scotland but would love to visit.I have a deep intrest in my gaelic back ground and in celtic myth and legend.I'm very proud to be Canadian and love living in New Scotland and I hope to visit Old Scotia before to long :) Today I thought I'd really like to visit Alba,..more so then ever for some reason. - see 7 comments |

I love to travel in Scotland, and spend as much time there as I can manage. At least three weeks out of every 2 years. Being of Douglas ancestry I am fascinated with SCOTTISH HISTORY especially the wars of independence and early Stewarts. I groom and show dogs. Recently retired after 49 years of working to earn a crust and enjoying every minute of it! Happily married for 40 years, proud parents of a great son and daughter, son-in-law and daughter-in-law and doting grandparents of three grandsons and one little princess! We spend most of our holidays travelling in Scotland and still have lots to see even after all these years. |
