    Dad's side, Clan Donald. Granddad John Curry Donaldson emigrated from Paisley to New England at age 12. Mum's side,Stirling,was in Louisiana early in 1800s. Just attended Stirling reunion in June. I'm a seamstress, selling my wares on etsy.com (aislinnluv.etsy.com ), formerly Renaissance dancer and choreographer. They were from Collessie in Fife as far back as 1700 that I have searched. Other family ancestors were Lawson's, Ramsay's and Dolaldson's, all were from the same area.     MY earliest Scots relatives came to Philadelphia in 1772, from Sutherland, Scotland. Alexander McCoy and Katherine Sutherland came on the same ship. Alexander joined the Continental Army in 1776 and was taken prisoner at the Battle of Ticonderoga, after receiving a saber wound. He was a prisoner of war and remained in Halifax, Nova Scotia until a prisoner exchange at the end of the war. He returned to Philadelphia and married Katherine. My Grandfather was an Anderson from Arbroath and my Grandmother was originally a McBride who was born in Forfar but grew up in Dundee. I spent over 10 months in Scotland supervising the rigging restoration in Glasgow of the tallship GLENLEE built in 1897. Lived in Tahiti and the South Seas, Australia, East, West and Gulf coasts of the US and have sailed over 25,000 on square-rigged ships.
