    Member of the Big Country fan club (80's/90's Scottish/English rock band). Have visited Scotland twice, in 1981 and 2007 and may make it again within 2009/2010, fingers crossed. My Highlanders came from western Scotlland via Pictou and Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia on father's side. My Lowlanders came from Dumfriesshire via Ashton-under-Lyne, Lancashire, England on mother's side.

The Scottish festivals and Scottish Country Dancing are about as close as we can get to Scotland without hopping a plane. Hopefully my little son and I will have the opportunity to visit regularly!
