    Ronald B: Aberdeen heritage photos

from the Manassas area in United States

Born in the U.S. from Scottish heritage. First ancestor who came from Aberdeen to America was Jonathan Burnett who was known as the "Merchant of Aberdeen". He traveled aboard the ship Abraham in 1635 from London to Virginia. Jonathan had received permission from King Charles I to export tobacco back to the UK. Jonathan and his family lived near what is now Essex County, Virginia just west of Tappahannock (http://www.tappahan nock-va.gov/)
