I just came across a few articles online I thought other Scotsters might enjoy looking at...

Enjoy!
Thanks for sharing them. I don't have time now, but I will enjoy looking at them tomorrow.
Great Tam. They're all pretty short, but interesting!
These are fantastic Elizabeth! Thanks for those. I love going to the Historic Scotland site also and learning about the latest digs going on around the country. They also talk about work they are doing around the country with various castles and excavations. Great stuff. Love to read this. Thanks again. :)
As more come my way, I'll post them here!
Awesome thanks for sharing, What I would give to work during ANY of those digs. I love history, just any part of it!
very intresting thanks for posting the links
Thank you Elizabeth. I especially enjoyed the "Mission to Crack the Norse Code". We will be staying in Orphir on Orkney in June and are very much looking forward to exploring.
Oh, I envy you Jo! You'll have a wonderful time.
Not really Scottish, but sort of connected, if you like whisky!

I read about that one - what a story!
I have a friend who is working on conserving the Scott supply post/cabin/camp (whatever they're called). She hasn't responded to my ribbing that she is working the wrong site! lol. Maybe they sent a crate over!
This one is kind of quirky, and centres in the USA, on a man of Scottish descent: http://www.archaeologydaily.com/news/201002223367/SC-Archaeologists-Say-Early-Octagonal-House-Found.html
Here's another one that may be Scotland related... http://www.archaeologydaily.com/news/201003203610/Greenland-Vikings-had-Celtic-blood.html
Fascinating!
A long time ago, I read a novel by Anya Seton, I think, about a Celtic woman, who was herself sired in a Viking raid, captured by marauding Vikings and taken away to Iceland. Funny all these years later to see DNA proving the fact - not that it wasn't a common theory since the Viking raids began!
Here's one to help you plan an archaeological tour of megalithic sites in Scotland:
